His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has awarded the prestigious First-Class Medal of Independence to His Excellency Álvaro Carlo Moreira, Ambassador of Uruguay, in recognition of his outstanding efforts to deepen relations between the two nations. The honor was presented as H.E. Moreira concluded his tenure as Uruguay’s ambassador to the UAE.
The medal was formally handed over by Her Excellency Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, during a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. H.E. Al Hashimy underscored the UAE’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Uruguay across various sectors and emphasized the mutual benefits of collaboration between the two nations. She also praised the ambassador's contributions to advancing bilateral relations and conveyed her best wishes for his future endeavors.
In his remarks, H.E. Moreira expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and highlighted the growing cooperation between the UAE and Uruguay. He applauded the UAE’s significant achievements under its visionary leadership, which have bolstered the nation’s global standing.
