For Marina Bataller, a Mexican born beauty entrepreneur and CEO of two marquee brands: Sala B and B Clinique, the road to success hasn´t been easy.
Marina comes from a family where entrepreneurship, values and a passion for serving customers have always been a tradition – as she was growing up she discovered her own passion for beauty, wellness and personal care.
It should come as no surprise that when Ms. Bataller was ready to make her way in life, she decided to create, launch and scale a portfolio of beauty related businesses. Her holdings include two of the leading beauty brands in southern Mexico, Sala B an up-scale nail parlor with an edge, and B Clinique a state of the art body shaping facility that boasts the latest technology.
We decided to interview Marina and understand the mindset behind her business success:
How did you get started in the beauty and wellness industry?
I decided to venture into the beauty and wellness segments because as a client I could realize that we shouldn´t put to the side our own wellbeing, regardless of which stage of life we´re in. Women, indifferent of their age, always need a place to relax.
What have been some of the challenges that you have overcome during the process of launching and maintaining your businesses?
Handling frustration has been the biggest challenge. Working with and for women doesn´t seem complicated until you experience it. But I definitely love it!
Can you share a piece of advice for other young entrepreneurs like yourself?
The best advice I can give is be patient! Nothing comes without effort, even if it may seem easy. During the process you will feel tired and might even regret doing things but you should never abandon your goals.
Where do you see your brands Sala B and B Clinique in five years?
I see them growing and attaining the capacity to serve more customers, with an even more committed staff.
