Emirates Launches New Direct Flight Connecting Dubai and Hangzhou
In a move aimed at deepening its presence in East Asia, Emirates Airline has inaugurated a new daily flight connecting Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH). This strategic expansion highlights the carrier’s commitment to supporting regional tourism and trade between the Middle East and China.
The new route positions Hangzhou as the fifth city in mainland China served by Emirates, joining Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. This milestone solidifies the airline's growing footprint in China, where it now operates a total of 49 weekly flights.
Strengthening Trade and Tourism Links Across the Yangtze Delta
Hangzhou, a vibrant tech and business hub located in the dynamic Yangtze River Delta, benefits immensely from this enhanced global connection. With Emirates’ extensive network of over 150 destinations, the new route will allow easier access for travelers and businesses moving between China and the broader Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
By increasing accessibility to this key economic region, the new service aims to bolster two-way tourism and improve commercial opportunities between Hangzhou and international markets.
Boeing 777-300ER Delivers Enhanced Passenger Experience
The route is operated by Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, known for its spacious cabins, advanced in-flight entertainment, and long-range capabilities. The aircraft provides a premium travel experience across First, Business, and Economy classes, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
The inaugural flight, EK310, departed from Dubai on July 30 and was welcomed in Hangzhou with a ceremonial water salute and a reception attended by local dignitaries and aviation officials. This marks the second Chinese destination added to Emirates’ network in just one month.
Part of a Larger Strategy to Expand in Asia
This latest development forms part of Emirates' long-term vision to increase its reach in Asia, particularly in high-growth markets. By introducing more direct routes to China, the airline aims to capture growing demand for both passenger and cargo services while fostering closer ties between Asian and Middle Eastern economies.
Emirates continues to invest in expanding its Asian routes as part of a broader commitment to connecting the world through Dubai, ensuring faster, smoother travel and trade corridors between the East and West.
