UAE Fuel Prices for August 2025: Slight Petrol Drop, Diesel Sees Notable Hike

August 2025 Fuel Prices Announced in the UAE

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has revealed the official petrol and diesel rates for August 2025, with updated prices taking effect from Friday, August 1. While petrol prices saw a slight decline across all grades, diesel experienced a noticeable increase compared to July.

These adjustments reflect global oil market trends, in line with the UAE’s fuel price liberalisation policy introduced in 2015.

Petrol Sees Minor Drop Across All Variants

Drivers in the UAE will benefit from a small dip in petrol prices this month:

Super 98: Dhs2.69 per litre (down from Dhs2.70 in July)
Super 95: Dhs2.57 per litre (down from Dhs2.58)
E-Plus 91: Dhs2.50 per litre (down from Dhs2.51)

Though the change is minimal, the decrease offers slight relief for motorists amid otherwise steady fuel costs.

Diesel Prices Rise Notably

Unlike petrol, diesel has seen a significant increase. For August, the diesel rate is set at Dhs2.78 per litre, up from Dhs2.63 in July. This rise may impact transport and logistics sectors more directly.

The fluctuation is in line with international fuel price movements, as the UAE’s pricing model adjusts monthly based on global oil benchmarks.

When Are UAE Fuel Prices Announced?

The UAE Fuel Price Committee announces new fuel prices on the final day of each month, with the revised rates coming into effect the following day.

For August 2025, the rates were released on Thursday, July 31, and applied from Friday, August 1. This schedule allows residents and businesses to prepare for changes in fuel expenses at the start of every month.

Fuel Price Policy Aligned with Global Trends

Since the liberalisation of fuel prices in 2015, the UAE has tied local rates to global oil market movements. This approach ensures transparency and helps align domestic fuel consumption with international energy trends.

The monthly updates allow consumers to stay informed and make cost-effective decisions based on current fuel market dynamics.
