Scroll, Stream, and Work While You Ride
Traveling between emirates just got a major upgrade. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially completed the rollout of free Wi-Fi on all 259 intercity buses, connecting passengers to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Fujairah—no login fees, no data limits.
Thanks to a collaboration with telecom giant e& (formerly Etisalat), the service lets commuters stay connected on smartphones, tablets, and laptops throughout their entire journey.
On-the-Go Connectivity Without the Buffering
Whether you're scrolling through social media, checking emails, or video calling from the road, you can now do it all without using your personal data. According to RTA, the service will be continuously monitored and optimized, ensuring minimal buffering and consistent speed.
A Bigger Vision for Smart Mobility
This latest feature is part of the RTA’s wider commitment to digital transformation and supports the goals of the UAE Digital Government Strategy. The idea is simple: make public transportation smarter, more productive, and more enjoyable.
More Than Just Buses: Expanding the Wi-Fi Network
Free Wi-Fi isn’t limited to buses. The RTA and e& have already implemented the service at 21 public bus stations and 22 marine transport stations across Dubai. And they’re not stopping there—plans are underway to expand connectivity to all 43 RTA bus and marine stations.
So, whether you’re heading out on a long commute or just hopping on for a quick ride, you can now stay connected, entertained, and productive—for free.
